Leah N Steele OD, Associate
An Ohio native, Dr. Steele attended John Carroll University where she studied physics and mathematics before graduating from The Ohio State University College of Optometry with honors in 2011. Dr. Steele spent a year practicing in downtown Pittsburgh before joining the practice in the summer of 2012. She is thrilled to be a part of the Family Eye Care North "family" and can't wait to meet you! She lives in Allison Park with her husband, Dan and new baby boy Hugo.
Amy Lazzo, Office/Medical Manager Joining our staff in 1992 part time, Amy has worked her way through our office at front desk, pretesting and optical. Now managing the medical side of our practice full time, she can answer just about any question you may ask her. Taking care of the accounts receivable, accounts payable and making sure your insurance claims get paid correctly keeps her busy. Amy loves working with our staff and patients. She shares her home in Valencia with her husband and two children.
Kay Davidson, Front Desk
Joining Family Eyecare North in 1989, Kay has answered phones, assisted doctors, pre-tested and helped patients choose the perfect frames for their glasses. Patients feel at home as soon as they come through the door when Kay welcomes them while gathering the all important background and insurance information that goes along with full scope eye care. No matter what the question, Kay can point you in the right direction. She makes her home in Mars with her husband Wayne. Call Kay for your next appointment.
Jane Cumberledge, Front Desk
Jane joined our family in a part time position. You will see her at the front desk greeting the patients and gathering the important information for the patient's record. She also assists with Accounts Receivable, takes weekly inventory of the contact trials and performs the Visual Field testing. Jane lives in Cranberry Township with her husband.
Sue Hritz, Scribe
Sue writes for the doctor during your eye health exam. She also can step in and pre-exam the patients if we need her to help with those duties. Sue can also assist you with "dry eye syndrome" ask her any question you may have and she will find the answer for you. Sue lives in Seven Fields with her husband.
Debbie Ziegler, pre-testing
Debbie performs the pre-exam tests that set the baseline for the quality eye health exam performed by the doctor. Her friendly smile will make you feel right at home here with our "family". Debbie lives in Harmony with her husband.
Jessica Mathews, pre-testing
Jessica will be performing all the pre-exam tests that set a baseline for the quality eye health exam performed by the doctor. Her friendly attitude are an appealing difference in this day of impersonal health care. Jesscia lives in Cranberry Township with her husband and daughter.
David Altman, Optician
You will find David in The Optical Showcase educating patients on their glasses needs and also contact lens needs. David also brought to us our ability to cut our own lenses for your frames. Certain prescription lenses can be fit into your frame or a new frame in less than 30 minuites. We are happy to have him and his experience back in our family. David lives in Zelienople with his wife and two children.
Julie Horstman, Optical Administrator
Julie joined our family November 2008. Julie is orginally from the state of Indiana. She began working in the optometric field there and then moved to the Pittsburgh area. We were lucky that she found our office while searching for a job in this area. You will find Julie in The Optical Showcase overseeing all the daily duties and patient care. If you have a question about your insurance coverage just ask Julie.
Joanne Zediker, Optician Helping patients chose eyewear that makes them look their best, is just one part of the job at the Optical Showcase next door to Family Eyecare North. Joanne Zediker has many years experience in making your choices easier by educating you to the value and benefits of lens materials and treatments that not only make you look great, but keep you seeing at an optimum level on a day to day basis. Being able to give patient's the advantage of glare free vision is just one of the benefits Joanne gives every patient that walks through our doors.
Denise Stevens, Laser Vision Correction Coordinator
Denise has counseled hundreds of patients through the life changing process of Laser Vision Correction. When asked for her thoughts, Denise said "Our success rate has been so high because of the care we take to answer all the patient's questions and our doctors don't just recommend LASIK for everyone.
